BMW X1 on the road!
Hello everybody,
After driving the BMW X1 for two weeks, I can honestly tell you: “It is the coolest car I have ever drove.” The X-Drive function is awesome. I never got stuck !
I took it to Arlberg, Obertauern, Zillervalley and many other steep and snow covered roads and it is not problem for the X1. Every ski area I have been to, people always want take picture of the BMW X1.
Check out some pics and also my homepage where you can follow my season and the X1 http://www.roman-rohrmoser.com/blog.html

With the BMW X1 in Kaprun, AUT at the Youngblood Camp
One of our inhouse marketing guys got the chance of grabbing the keys of our X1 and went to the Youngblood camp up on Kitzsteinhorn this past weekend. Unfortunately no pics from the mountain as the camera froze, we heard it was 25 degrees (Celcius) below zero.

Get Extreme...Apres Extreme...The end of all K2 trailers
There was no party and Seth and Pep were bummed....That was until K2 Charlie, known for bringing the party, rallied into the gravel lot carrying a rowdy crew of skiers who were ready to get their party on. .. and when I say 'party on'.... I mean they were ready to Apres Extreme. This roller coaster of a teaser corkscrews you from hot the ski action of Andy Mahre to a raging party that loops you through Reggie Crist's trippy realities, descend you into Seth Morrison's world of blow-up alien dolls, introduce you to Sean Pettit's imaginary friends and take you to a place where locals lose limbs and the Apres gets even more Extreme. So click in, crack one open, and get ready for some runs, too much fun and what will be known as the apres of a lifetime.....Apres Extreme

BackSide Telemarker Jani Johansén in the Polar Night

This time of the year the sun doesn´t rise at all above the Arctic Circle. So what does K2 BackSide skiers do. They go skiing.
Jani Johansén did some trekking in Tamok and Lyngen, North Norway. The sun went below the horizon in the end of November. It returns in mid January. The time between one can see fabulous colours in the nature: tender colours of pink and purple. The shadows are deep marine blue. The moon gives enough light so you don´t need a headlamp.

Himalayan Trekking~great dryland training!

- Trekking in Nepal
I will never forget my First Run Of The Year after my first season of trekking in Nepal. The year was 1993 and right before ski season, I went trekking in the Langtang region of Nepal. I had trained HARD for the trek, hiking and mountain biking right up until the minute I boarded the plane. But trekking in Nepal is another thing completely, and despite all my training, it was still really hard! Plus, back in those days, I was carrying all of my gear (tent, food, stove, you name it). (This was before I woke up to one of the best things about trekking in Nepal…porters. Hellooo!) Anyway….back to my story: Nepal is, well, mountainous! Even at low altitudes, it is extremely mountainous. Days are made up of climbing up one mountain, down the other side and back up another. Day after day. Think topo lines and you are right on track. But, these aren’t just any mountains, these are the Himalayas! Rice paddies turn into pine forests turn into glacial valleys and then rock, snow & ice rise vertically above you. Add ancient culture and friendly, open hearted people to that and you have trekking in Nepal. One big workout camouflaged in the adventure of a lifetime!
Now, back to my first run…I live in Sun Valley, Idaho, where our ski mountain (“Baldy”) is perhaps best known for its long, uninterrupted vertical: No flats, just 3300 feet of the same pitch, top to bottom. The big test on opening day is whether or not you can ski “Warm Springs” top to bottom without stopping. Warm Springs is one long leg burner! No amount of pre-season wall sits can prepare you for Warm Springs. Normally I would almost make it to the bottom but have to pull over last minute in agony. But…not after trekking in Nepal! No sirreee! Top to bottom, no problem, back on the chair for another lap! Awesome. Sold! Haven’t missed a season of trekking since! Now it is actually my job to take people trekking there (www.mountainspirits.com) and I have managed to go every season since ’93 except one….and boy my legs hurt on Warm Springs that year!
Mountaineer Stefan Glowacz takes K2 Skis to Baffin Island
K2 ambassador and climber and mountaineer Stefan Glowacz went to Baffin Island last spring to search for the ultimate granite climb. But climbing was not the main challenge. Going there and returning was the bigger one as their climbing "bastion" was in the middle of nowhere, only accessable with dogsledges or by walking. To take advantage of the winds in that region they also brought skis and kites to walk less and have some fun during their journey.

Come and see how their adventure turned out, K2 is hosting a multivision show in Garmisch Partenkirchen on Jannuary 4th 2010.
Location: Michael Ende Kurpark (entrance Richard Strauss square)
The show starts at 8.00pm, tickets are 5,- Euro and you canget them at Sport Conrad in Garmisch, Murnau and Penzberg.
"Traveling Skis" visited Sweden
Straight from Switzerland to Sweden. After some great weeks in Switzerland the K2 Traveling Skis finally made it to Sweden. During the Swedish Demo-Tour, the girls had the chance to test and sign the Traveling Skis.
K2 Demo tour in Sweden
During 3 weeks, K2 was on a demo tour with the new K2 Stuffa around the Swedish mountains. People could test the new K2 stuff. Everybody was really stoked about the new products.
